North Shore Montessori School
(NSMS) is hosting an Open House where members of the community can visit the
school and meet the Head of School, Meg Sheehan; talk to teachers; plus tour
the classrooms and see the facilities.  The North
Shore Montessori School
utilizes the time-proven approach of Maria
Montessori to bring out the best in every
child. NSMS offers educational programs from age
15 months through Kindergarten, utilizing a
sequence approach to ensure stronger
academic foundations.  Programs include:  Mommy & Me, Stepping Stones, Children’s
House, Kindergarten, as well as Specialized Programs before
and after school with additional instruction and activities, such as yoga,
baking, karate, science, theater, Spanish, gardening, and dance.

At NSMS students participate
in a variety of hands-on learning experiences that challenge their intellect
while developing their communication skills, fine motor skills, and
self-confidence. Instead of rote learning, North Shore Montessori adapts to
individual talents and interests, with teachers carefully observing each
student to see what motivates his or her learning style; then utilizing this
information to develop a personalized curriculum that is enriched with specials
in art, music, creative movement, and library.
