Hand-Colored Photography Workshop for Beginners!

Turn your black and white photographs into one-of-a-kind artistic creations with a vintage flair!

In this afternoon workshop, instructor Marlene Weinstein will teach you how to hand color your black and white digital photographs using PanPastels.  PanPastels are low-dust, highly pigmented artists’ pastels in a cake form and are the perfect medium for coloring photos.

The workshop will begin with a discussion of the process of hand-coloring photographs and will be followed by a demonstration of Marlene’s technique.  After the demonstration, students will begin their own project under the instructor’s guidance.

Students may bring their own black and white digital photos or chose from a selection of pre-printed, instructor provided photos.

At the completion of the workshop, students will leave with one or two finished pieces.  All students will be given 1 Sofft knife tool, 2 Sofft knife covers, 1 round sponge, and 2 mini applicators to continue making these unique creations at home.
