Fairytales, Legends and Myths
In this workshop, students will explore creating art using fairytales, legends and myths as inspiration. We will look at the fairytales of The Brothers Grimm and the beautifully illustrated book of Alice In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. In addition, students will learn about the work of artists’s Kiki Smith, Rachel Feinstein, Farideh Lashai and Donald Baechler. Each student will learn about developing a unique visual style. Students will be able to experiment with mono printmaking, painting, drawing and collage.
This workshop is suitable for children, ages 5-10.

Annemarie Waugh is a British born painter and educator who lives and works in East Setauket. Waugh makes figurative and abstract paintings, prints and photographs.
