On January 20, 2013, Le Petit Salon de Musique in East Setauket presents an exciting program of the world’s favorite vocal music from Mozart to Ravel to Gershwin, performed by Ron and Julie Anne Meixsell, with pianist Doris Anne McMullen.  This recital of show tunes and opera classics will include songs from The Marriage of Figaro, Carmen, Camelot, Godspell and other favorite shows.  For more than twenty years, Ron and Julie Anne Meixsell have performed in concert to consistent rave reviews. Among the highlights of their appearances are concerts at The Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center and three seasons with The Sound Symphony Summer Concert Series on Long Island.  They currently perform with Long Island’s newest opera ensemble, OperAlive.

Baritone Ron Meixsell’s credits include German Lieder recitals at The Bruno Walter Auditorium in Lincoln Center as well as leading roles with the New York Grand Opera, Opera on The Sound, The Long Island Opera, the Manhattan Opera Ensemble, and Ridotto.  As the designated vocalist for The Long Island Association, he has sung the National Anthem for no less than three Presidents.  Soprano Julie Anne Meixsell has toured nationwide as part of an ensemble produced by Neil Diamond and recorded on Columbia Records and performed solo concerts including a starring role in the premiere performance of the musical “Strether” by William Flanders.  The Meixells are accompanied by Doris Anne McMullen, who has performed as a soloist, duo-pianist, lecture-recitalist, chamber musician and accompanist throughout Long Island and across the United States and England. Her live and taped radio broadcasts have been broadcast on WQXR, WNYC and the BBC.  She has performed with the Long Island Philharmonic and as a concerto soloist with the Suffolk Symphony, Sound Symphony, West Islip Symphony Orchestra, Bay Area Friends of the Fine Arts (BAFFA) and the University Orchestra at Stony Brook University.

Tickets for this event are $20 at the door or $15 online at www.lepetitsalon.org.  Tickets for seniors are $15 at the door or $10 online and for students are $5.  Le Petit Salon de Musique is located at 380 Nicolls Rd., East Setauket, NY and is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook (www.UUFSB.org), a non-profit religious organization whose mission includes support for social and economic justice.  All proceeds are used to fund UUFSB and its mission.

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.

I the BOE and Union didn't allow the majority of the budget be spent on benefits and salaries maybeRead More there would be money left for supplies. With declining enrollment and cuts to programs for our kids they only ones making out are teachers and staff with too generous salaries and benefits. Vote no on Tuesday!

Seriously? We are asked to send in enough supplies per kid each year to supply 5 kids. Where does itRead More all go? It gets lost, thrown out, or ends up back in the students home via backpack. The problem is not the lack of supplies, but a lack of personal responsibility. But if we send in enough supplies each year for ten or fifteen students, then we might be able to avoid the underlying problem.

everyone should research what all the school administrators are raking in and the multple levels ofRead More staff that exists at TVCSD. It is beyond reasonable to have salaries at that level and multiple administrators and assistants and directors and assistant directors and chairman etc. Teachers earn their fair share!
