Community Corner

The Muse Exchange

Beginning January 10th and every other Thursday thereafter we are going to breathe life into a brand new open mic/art series for Long Island: The Muse Exchange.

If you're nostalgic about 'the munchaba days' or you're just looking for a new, warm hang to connect and share with other creative energies this is for you!

The Muse Exchange is an open mic for poetry, comedy, spoken word, idea sharing, story telling, and song. There will be two rounds of open mic with a featured performer between rounds each week. Each participant on the open mic has a 5 minute time limit and sign up begins at 7:00pm.

The Velvet Lounge was gracious enough to give us use of the freshly painted train car area that will be used as an art gallery to feature visual art displayed by a new featured artists each week.

There is NO COVER. You must be 21 or over.

I feel like this has the potential to become something very special among the creative community on LI. With the proper energy and support we can all create something really important here.

but we can't do it without each other! so, spread the word!

The Muse Exchange is where it's at!

PLEASE NO TAGGING the bar, the walls, the bathrooms, etc. I know when a bunch of artists get together creativity runs wild and you wanna draw on shit. Draw on your face if you feel compelled and can't keep your marker in your pocket but The Lounge is off limits. C'mon, local lovelies...don't F this up.
