Week in Review: Burglary Causes School Lockdown

Suffolk County police on Wednesday arrested four people whom they say burglarized multiple homes in the Selden, Setauket, Miller Place and Port Jefferson areas. The burglary and arrests caused at Ward Melville High School and Arrowhead Elementary School.

The Setauket Fire Department responded to a crash in which a pickup truck smashed into the garage of a home on Sycamore Circle on Wednesday afternoon. The pickup truck damaged the garage door and a utility room containing the home's heating system.

A new bill will set up a pilot program that will equip police cars in some precincts with Narcan, which can help reduce the risk of death in cases of opiate overdose.

Suffolk County police are seeking an unknown person who broke into Jake Starr Café and stole an empty cash register and an envelope containing cash. According to a police report, a white male kicked in the door of the restaurant sometime between 11 p.m. on April 20 and 3 a.m. on April 21. Police said the burglar made away with $1,500 in cash.
