Week in Review: Big News for Stony Brook

A roundup of news throughout the week in Three Village.

The biggest news this week came out of Stony Brook University, which on Wednesday receieved a from the Simons Foundation at the same time as Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a $35 million challenge grant award. Not only that, but the state awarded that fall under the umbrella of the Long Island Regional Economic Council's plan.

Also on the schools front, the Three Village Central School District of the 2012-12 school year.

On the business front, , Carriage Services, but pledged to continue operating as it has for the past 40 years.
