Three Village Scoreboard: SBU Men, Women Pick Up Conference Wins

Men's Basketball

Stony Brook 65, New Hampshire 49: Freshman Jameel Warney had 18 points and 4 blocks, Tommy Brenton had 12 rebounds, 5 points and 5 assists for the Seawolves on Saturday. Coach Steve Pikiell said after the game: "I loved our defense today and we scored what we needed to to get a win. It was great to have a deep bench and it helped us a great deal. It was a good win against a well-coached New Hampshire team." Stony Brook is 10-4 overall – its best start in program history – and 1-0 in America East play.

Women's Basketball

Stony Brook 48, New Hampshire 44: Chikilra Goodman totaled 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for Stony Brook on Saturday. Jessica Previlon added 12 points in the win. Coach Beth O'Boyle said after the game: "That was a very physical team we just competed against, so this was a great win for us in conference on the road." Stony Brook is 9-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Boys' Basketball

Ward Melville 60, Sachem East 43: Jesse Smith scored 15 points, Jake Kepes had 12 points and 7 assists, and Samuel Stanley added 10 points and 8 rebounds for the Patriots (3-1) on Jan. 4.

Wrestling

Hauppauge 41, Ward Melville 26: The Patriots scored wins at 106 pounds, 113 pounds, 182 pounds, 195 pounds, and 285 pounds in a loss to Hauppauge in the final of the West Islip Duals on Saturday.

Longwood 50, Ward Melville 30: Ward Melville scored wins at 113 pounds, 120 pounds, 126 pounds, 182 pounds, and 195 pounds in a League I loss to Longwood on Friday.

I agree..maybe that is one of the reasons road pavement safety lines and striping esp. in the 3VRead More area are virtually non existent!! VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION that leaves the TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN liable involving accidents and fatalities. I think the new T.O.B. highway super, (D. L.) should make this a priority!

Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.
