24 to 29 Inches of Snow Falls on Three Village

Area among hardest hit on Long Island.

Residents in the Three Village area woke up to more snow on Saturday morning than almost anywhere else on Long Island – over two feet of snow throughout – the National Weather Service reported.

According to the NWS, Setauket saw an even two feet – though that reading was taken at midnight, so a higher total as of Saturday morning could be more than likely. Meanwhile in Stony Brook and East Setauket, snow totals of 27.5 and 28.5 inches were each unofficially reported, respectively.

Upton got hit the hardest, numbers showed, with over two-and-a-half feet of snow.

The windy nature of the storm has left snow drifts that may tower much higher than the two feet that fell; one twitter user in East Setauket snapped a photo of a snow drift well up into her windows.

According to the weather service, the area will remain in a blizzard watch until noon, though the storm was clearly winding down across the region Saturday morning.

everyone should research what all the school administrators are raking in and the multple levels ofRead More staff that exists at TVCSD. It is beyond reasonable to have salaries at that level and multiple administrators and assistants and directors and assistant directors and chairman etc. Teachers earn their fair share!
Reality Check May 15, 2013 at 08:01 pm
Last year we lost 20 staff...this year we are losing over 50 meanwhile the remaining staff isRead More getting a 6% raise...the UNION is eating itself and ruining our school and the BOE is not dealing with the situation..the benefits are up nearly 13% this year...what do you think will happen next year? Another 60,70,80 to be laid off? My vote is NO!!!!
