The Week Ahead: School Board, Athletic Boosters, College Night

This week, there may be no school on Monday, but it's all about education in Three Village. The school board and athletic booster club will meet, and college-bound students can learn about financial aid. For more events taking place in town, visit our events calendar.

1. The Board of Education will hold its second regular meeting of the month on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. at the North Country Administration Center.

2. Get involved in supporting your local scholastic sports teams by attending a meeting of the Ward Melville Athletic Boosters on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Ward Melville HS.

3. Thursday night will be a big one for college-bound students in Three Village: attend College Planning Night at 7 p.m. at Ward Melville HS to hear a guest speaker explain financial aid concepts.

4. Brookhaven's Town Board will meet on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Town Hall in Farmingville. If you've got a specific question for Town Supervisor Ed Romaine, show up half an hour early and you'll be able to attend one of his new question-and-answer sessions.

5. If you missed it on Jan. 10, The Muse Exchange returns to The Velvet Lounge for another night of poetry and art starting at 7 p.m.
