Wednesday night's storm soaked Three Village, forcing residents to flee indoors and leaving roads and parking lots filled with water.
At the Three Village Chamber of Commerce's networking event at the Stony Brook Yacht Club, where attendees commented on the storm's severity while watching through windows, one person had a different view.
"Actually, it's refreshing," said Anna Porfert of King's Park. "Isn't it a little amazing to watch?"
