From Port Jefferson Patch: Crowds Swarm Danfords as James Franco, Jonah Hill Movie Films in VillageDozens of star-struck locals gathered outside Danford's Hotel and Marina on Thursday afternoon, hoping to catch a glimpse of the actors James Franco and Jonah Hill on the set of The True Story. Filming was taking place near the lobby of the picturesque hotel, back by the docks overlooking the harbor.

From Hauppauge Patch: 7 Cars Smashed, Possibly Shot With Pellet Gun MondayHauppauge citizens on Monday night reported seven cars with smashed windows, with at least one report claiming vandals shot the car with a pellet gun, according to police. All of the incidents, logged on April 8, happened in the same general neighborhood.

From Miller Place-Rocky Point Patch: Postal Service Worker Busted in Unemployment Payment Scam. A Rocky Point woman, working for the U.S. Postal Service, was convicted recently by the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York for stealing over $11,500 in unemployment benefits. The Department of Labor identified 35-year-old Angela Blazejewski as one of seven cases announced on Thursday. Others named ran from Brooklyn to Plattsburgh to Schenectady, collecting anywhere from $5,300 to $26,000 from 2009 through 2012.

From Smithtown Patch: Smithtown Democrats Name Supervisor Candidate. Steven Snair, 31, received the party's nomination for Smithtown Supervisor on Wednesday, after going through a screening process with the town's democratic committee on Tuesday night. He will go up against incumbent Supervisor Patrick Vecchio and Republican challenger Robert Creighton.

From Sachem Patch: Farmingville Man Killed in Holtsville CrashSuffolk County Police are investigating a crash that killed a Farmingville man while he was driving on North Ocean Avenue in Holtsville on Thursday. Police say Henry Villegas, 56, was driving a 2010 Dodge northbound on North Ocean just south of Summerfield Drive at around 12:30 p.m. when he crossed over into the southbound lane. Villegas collided with a 2013 Volkswagen driven by Samantha Velez. Villegas was rushed by Medford Ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
