May 17: Rock the Vote and Then Some

1. The countdown to Election Day in Three Village has finally expired and the day is here. Poll sites, located at the district's five elementary schools, are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., giving residents plenty of time before and after work, and even during their lunch break, to cast their vote. 3. Two years after Ward Melville's Steven Matz and Patchogue-Medford's Marcus Stroman drew scores of scouts to Central Suffolk, the Patriots try their chances against another electric arm – Pat-Med righthander Matt Vogel. The Raider sophomore, who is the 10th ranked sophomore prospect in the country according to Perfect Game USA, is scheduled to take the hill at Ward Melville this afternoon (4:15 p.m.; weather permitting). He struck out 14 Floyd hitters in his last outing. With an 8-7 mark in League I play, they can clinch a playoff berth with a win Tuesday.
