June 6: Young Composers and Barbershop Singers

1. The Civic Association of the Setaukets and Stony Brook will meet tonight at Emma S. Clark Library.

2. The Harbormen Barbershop Chorus is performing a free concert at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship tonight. begins at 8 p.m.

3. Setauket Elementary School holds the district's Young Composers Concert. Grade five will start things off at 6:30 p.m., and the sixth-grade group will perform beginning at 8 p.m.

4. Three Village Patch has a story on Ward Melville senior Mary Kate Anselmini, who broke the national record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Saturday's state qualifying meet in Port Jefferson. Check back to read about how she did it.

5. Get moving with the , which holds sessions every Monday at The Setauket Neighborhood House.

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.…Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

Seriously? We are asked to send in enough supplies per kid each year to supply 5 kids. Where does it…Read More all go? It gets lost, thrown out, or ends up back in the students home via backpack. The problem is not the lack of supplies, but a lack of personal responsibility. But if we send in enough supplies each year for ten or fifteen students, then we might be able to avoid the underlying problem.
