Jan. 27: Closures, Delays and Outages

Information on weather-related changes in Three Village.

As Three Village digs out – again – here are the latest closures, delays, and outages in the area.

  • Three Village Central School District: Closed Thursday. All after-school activities are canceled, according to the district website. However, the Watermill Catering Hall is reporting that the Ward Melville is still happening, with no notice of cancellation from the district as of 10:45 a.m. Thursday.
  • Emma S. Clark Memorial Library: Delayed opening at 3 p.m. All activities scheduled after 3 p.m. will still take place.
  • Stony Brook University: Classes starting after 11 a.m. will take place as scheduled. SBU Transit is operating on a Level C schedule.
  • U.S. Post Offices: Post offices are open for business and staff members say mail delivery "may be affected" by the snow. "If you have your mailbox shoveled out, then you'll get delivery. If you don't, then you won't," said one staff member at the Setauket post office on Main Street.

LIPA's Storm Center reports that scattered morning power outages in the Three Village area were addressed by 12 p.m., with a few outages remaining spread across Long Island as of 1:30 p.m.
