Gay UUFSB Minister Weds Partner in Valentine's Day Ceremony

Rev. Margie Allen and Rev. Dr. Linda Anderson were legally married on Sunday.

Following their 2010 wedding ceremony in Kingston, N.Y., Rev. Margie Allen of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook and her partner, Rev. Dr. Linda Anderson, were legally married on Sunday during the congregation's annual Valentine's Day service.

According to a Newsday report, Allen, 53, and Anderson, 63, passed their wedding rings through a flame and exchanged their vows in front of about 250 people on Sunday.

The service was part of the Unitarian Universalist Association's annual "Thirty Days of Love," which begins on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and ends on Valentine's Day.
