Event Spotlight: Finding Personal Meaning at Chabad at Stony Brook

Beginning next week Chabad at Stony Brook will offer a six-week course, open to everyone, designed to help people find personal meaning in the stories of the Talmud sages.

The course, titled "Curious Tales of the Talmud: Finding Yourself in the Legends of Our Sages," will be offered in two sessions – Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. beginning April 24 and Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. beginning April 26.

The course will be taught by Rabbi Shalom Ber Cohen of Chabad at Stony Brook, the local Jewish Learning Institute instructor.

“Whether you are fascinated by the Talmud and Jewish mysticism, or whether you are seeking a fun and meaningful experience, you won’t want to miss this course,” Rabbi Cohen said. “The material is as relevant as ever, promising to deepen the way we understand ourselves, our universe, and our relationships with the people we love.”

Those interested in taking the course can attend the first class without any commitment (must register for the free trial by emailing Rabbi Cohen). The full course is $99 for one person or $180 for a couple; the cost includes textbooks. The course will be held at Chabad SB's Lake Grove center at 821 Hawkins Ave.
