Event Preview: Surgical Robot Coming to Smith Haven Mall
DaVinci surgical system will be on hand for demonstrations in early February.
Mather Memorial Hospital announced that early next month, the daVinci advanced surgical system will be at the Smith Haven Mall on hand for members of the public to experience.
The system, which is used at Mather to perform bariatric, gynecological and urological surgeries, will be at the mall's center court on Saturday, Feb. 2 from noon to 7 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 3 from noon to 5 p.m.
Members of local high school robotics teams will be on hand for a friendly competition testing their skills, as well as Mather staff to demonstrate how the daVinci system works.
