Dec. 17: Who – or What – is Headley?

Stony Brook University Medical Center is Friday's headliner, with a special demonstration coming up at noon and an upcoming article about Thursday's main event. And fitness and music buffs can get their fixes today, too.

1. Who – or what – is Headley? Find out at noon at , which will celebrate its expanded Cerebrovascular Center and Cerebrovascular Research Center on Friday.

2. Get a head start on your fitness-related New Year's resolutions at  at . Drop-in classes are $18 at the East Setauket fitness center each Monday and Friday at 9:45 a.m.

3. Just one week after its ,  will debut a new monthly classical series, "Le Petit Salon de Musiques." Its inaugural performance will be given by pianist Alexandria Le, a doctoral candidate at Stony Brook, and cellist Andrew Smith. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $10 at the door.

4. On Thursday, SBUMC formally dedicated its ALS center for Chris Pendergast, a 17-year survivor of ALS and founder of Ride for Life. Watch for coverage coming later on Three Village Patch.
