#76 – Catch a Screening at the Stony Brook Film Festival

The annual festival is in its 16th year.

The Stony Brook Film Festival grows a little bigger each year, with more and more submissions for the festival's administration to review and better-quality films showing each summer.

This year's festival, the sixteenth annual, is set for July 21 to July 30 at the at Stony Brook University. Over the course of 10 days, audiences can see 22 full length independent and foreign films and 12 short films – many of which won't be widely released in the United States – and attend an opening night party and closing night reception as well.

Passes for the entire festival are $75, with a limited number of "gold passes" available for $225, which entitles the bearer to special seating. Opening night and closing night reception admission is $20 per party, and single tickets to screenings are $9 each ($7 for seniors and students).
