5 Ways to Get Involved in Your Community This Week

Here are a few suggestions for ways you can learn more about and get involved in the day to day happenings in Three Village.

From publicly open meetings to benefit walkathons, here are a few ways you can get active in the community this week.

1. The Three Village Central School District board of education will meet on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the North Country Administration Center.

2. Two fundraiser run/walks are scheduled for this coming weekend: on Saturday, you can take part in the "I Walk for Jules" event at West Meadow Beach, and on Sunday, you can participate in the "Run for Children" event at Gelinas Junior High School. 3. A police community meeting, open to the public, is set for Oct. 11 at the Sixth Precinct headquarters in Selden at 7 p.m.

4. The Village of Poquott board of trustees will meet on Thursday at 7 p.m. at its village hall on Birchwood Ave.

5. The Village of Old Field board of trustees will also meet on Tuesday. The meeting is set for 7 p.m. at the Setauket Neighborhood House.
