A Farewell and Thank-You from Your Three Village Editor

Patch local editor says goodbye.

Dear Readers, Neighbors and Friends,

It has truly been a joy to be your Three Village Patch editor since June of 2010, when we launched this hyperlocal community website. I'm leaving Patch for a new position, and while I'm excited for the new opportunity, I'm also quite sad to be leaving behind such a wonderful community.

We've been through it all together – from late-night breaking news and in-depth issues to day-to-day community happenings and lots of fun, lively and meaningful moments in between. I arrived from one historic suburb (Levittown) to take up residence in another historic suburb, and I've loved every moment here in Three Village.

You'll soon have a new permanent editor, but in the interim, please send your questions, comments and homemade cookies to regional editor Henry Powderly at Henry@patch.com.

Living and working in Three Village – which I view as a truly sophisticated, intellectual and vibrant community – has really prepared me for my new role: I'll be working as an education beat reporter at a newspaper in Williamsburg, Va.

I'll never forget the time I got to ride in a police car (without being arrested first), the time I got to try stand-up paddle boarding and the time I met a local celebrity. I've met so many interesting and inspiring local people to whom I owe thanks. I also am thankful to have had the chance to work with so many talented Patch editors and reporters from across Long Island.

Thank you a hundred times for embracing Patch by becoming regular readers, and I'll always keep Three Village in my thoughts.

Warm regards,
Christine Sampson
Former Three Village local editor
