Village People: Setauket Resident Joins Accelerate Long Island Board

A look at local residents' accomplishments.

David Calone has been named to the board of the nonprofit entity Accelerate Long Island, whose executive director Mark Lesko is the former Town of Brookhaven supervisor. Calone is the CEO of venture capital firm Jove Equity Partners LLC, which supports and develops businesses in the internet, energy, software, digital media, health care, real estate, and transportation industries. He has also served as chairman of the Suffolk County Planning Commission since 2008, and sits on the board of a few other Long Island based nonprofit organizations. Calone lives in Setauket with his wife Kate, who is a minister at Setauket Presbyterian Church, and three children.

Elizabeth Custodio of Stony Brook has left the board of the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency to join the Economic Development Committee as vice chair, according to Newsday. The committee was recently formed by County Executive Steve Bellone to promote job-creation policies. Custodio is the Community Reinvestment Act officer at Astoria Federal Bank.
