The Dish: What a "Nassakeag" Tastes Like

Patch sampled the Nassakeag panini at Setauket Gourmet Deli.

Nestled inside a busy East Setauket shopping center is – which makes a good pitstop for lunch if you've got errands to run at the UPS store, florist, pharmacy or butcher nearby. On the menu is a number of sandwiches with familiar names, including this panini.

The Dish: Nassakeag Panini Special ($7.99)

What's Inside: Honey turkey, cheddar cheese, bacon, and tomato on European whole wheat flatbread, served toasty warm.

Eat this Because: The flavors really pop, and you like your sandwiches toasted. Especially if you're a fan of, say, a traditional turkey club sandwich, this might be a nice change of pace for you.

Side Dish: Panini specials at Setauket Gourment Deli come with the option of a half panini with a 12 oz. cup of soup. Also, the deli has a wide assortment of holiday treats such as cookies, chocolate bars, gold coins and more. We particularly liked the "Santa Bait" chocolate bar.
