The Dish: A Kebab Worth the Hunt

Pita House may be hard to find, but it's worth it.

When we last checked in with Pita House, we tried the falafel platter and dubbed the restaurant a hidden Mediterranean gem. This time, we tried the chicken kebab lunch platter. Oh, and it's still a hidden Mediterranean gem.

The Dish: Chicken Kebab Lunch Platter with Red Lentil Soup ($9.75)

What's Inside: A heaping portion of grilled chicken topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and onions wrapped in a warm pita. The red lentil soup is a meat broth-based soup topped with parsley and mint.

Eat this Because: You're craving something fresh and filling. The soup has a bit of a spicy kick to it, too. Throw in the warm pita bread and yogurt sauce that come with a sit-down meal, and all in all, the lunch platters at Pita House are large enough to be dinner platters.

Side Dish: Even the baklava is freshly made on premises. Topped with chopped nuts, it's a not-to-be-missed dessert.
