Shoe Warehouse, Housewares Store Await New Tenants [Empty in 3V]

Former MJM and Linens 'n Things stores sit empty in bustling business plaza.

Bookended by Marshall's HomeGoods on one side and AMC Loews movie theater on the other, the former MJM Designer Shoes warehouse and Linens n' Things sit empty in an otherwise busy shopping center in Stony Brook.

Linens 'n Things filed for bankrupcy in 2008 and announced that year it would close 120 under-performing stores, according to a report in The Huffington Post. And MJM closed a number of stores between 2007 and 2010 and sells shoes online, though on Long Island MJM stores remain open in Commack and East Meadow.

Calls to the leasing company, Valley Stream-based Serota Properties, were not returned.
