PHOTOS: LA Productions Celebrates New Website

Local event planner Laura Mastriano put her savvy into her own "White Party."

Laura Mastriano said she loves to throw one heck of a party. She's got to have the know-how, as the owner of LA Productions and Events, a local event planning company.

Mastriano recently invited the community to celebrate the launch of her Three Village-based company's new website, http://laproductionsevents.com/, with a glitzy "White Party" reminiscent of a Hamptons-style soirée at The Studio in Stony Brook.

"I'm very excited," she said. "It's been a long work in progress. "

The original website was built in 2004, and with lost passwords and the inability to update it, Mastriano couldn't do much with it. Local designer Kristen Macaulay designed the new site.

"I think the new website just shows everything we've been about," she said. "The other website was stuck and dated and didn't show what we're capable of doing."

Lesson learned: Compelling websites are crucial.

"You really need a good website. It's your tool, it's your voice," Mastriano said. "There are so many people that are out there searching. You need to have Instagram now, you need to have Twitter and Facebook. It's all connected."

Mastriano launched her business in 2001 after a career as a television news reporter and producer.

"My experience was doing the news and producing and putting stuff together for live television," she said. "All of those elements really helped sharpen my skills to be able to put an event together. I'm producing your events. ... the same amount of energy goes into it. And a lot more love."
