Sign: Staples to Take Over OfficeMax

New "Coming Soon" sign appears about a month after OfficeMax vacated its Stony Brook space.

If the sign on the storefront is any indication, Staples appears to have a new location slated for the empty space at 2100 Nesconset Highway in Stony Brook. A "Coming Soon" sign is up at , which closed 110 stores in January, according to the Associated Press. It is unclear whether this is a brand new location or a previously opened store will be relocating to this space; Staples representatives could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

I was sorry to see Office Max leave...so convenient...just as happy to know that Staples will be coming soon!

Hope they are not relocating the Hauppauge Staples.

I wish that CompUSA was still in the Hauppauge spot. I doubt that the Hauppauge Staples will be going anywhere anytime soon. I was there about a month ago and they seemed to be doing great business.

I love how it says Staples is coming soon, yet in the windows directly under it, there are signs telling customers to visit the remaining Long Island Office Max stores!

What's funny is, when things like this happen, we aren't supposed to notice them.

Lake Grove Staples in Bally's Shopping Center Across the Street will probably close to move into the former OfficeMax building. That is the second time that location is moved it used to be located in the shopping center that Sixth Ave Electronic is in if that store is still open. That should be the last time that store moves as the OfficeMax location will be the best location for them now they just need neighbors to move in the entire shopping center is gone.
