Meet the Owner: Ward Melville Alumna Launches Graphic Design Business

At 20 years old, Nicole Wong is already a business owner.

Ever since she can remember, Nicole Wong has loved art, encouraged by her teachers throughout her life as a student.

Now Wong, a 20-year-old student at Farmingdale State College and a 2010 graduate of Ward Melville High School, has turned that love of art into a business: She recently launched Wong Design, a graphic design business. And she's not even done with college yet.

"Not only do I go to school for art, but I love what I do, so I thought that having my own business would be really cool," she said.

"People think, 'Oh she’s 20, she doesn’t have experience,'" Wong said. "But because I am a college student and I’m young, I have new ideas. I want them to say, 'She does have what it takes. Yeah, she’s young, but she has a very creative mind.'"
