Local 73-Year-Old Woman Sues Walmart; Alleges Discrimination

New York Post reports Anne Squatrito of South Setauket is claiming age discrimination in the suit.

A South Setauket woman is suing Walmart, claiming age discrimination was a factor when she was fired from her job there, according to a report published Monday in New York Post.

Anne Squatrito, a 73-year-old grandmother and a heart attack survivor, was asked to move 200 loads of merchandise by herself, according to the report. She was fired from Walmart two weeks before Christmas in 2011.

A Walmart spokesman told New York Post that Squatrito was fired for violating the retail giant's time-clock policies.
