Latitude 121 to Open in Former Brook House Location

Announcement comes just weeks after Rockwell Cuisine was evicted from the location.

Latitude 121, a casual family dining restaurant, will move into the former Brook House location in Stony Brook Village, according to the Ward Melville Heritage Organization.

The announcement comes just a couple weeks after Rockwell Cuisine shut down at the location due to an eviction from the property’s management company.

Latitude 121 will be run by Lindsey Blakeslee Chalifoux, who is currently the general manager of Patchogue's The Oar Steak & Seafood Grill, which was named one of the Top 100 Waterfront Restaurants in the United States in 2013 by Open Table. Lindsay and her father, Richard Blakeslee, will co-own Latitude 121.

Latitude 121 will have a nautical theme and flair and will serve certified black angus beef burgers & steaks, lobster pot pie, fresh local oysters and clams, fresh and local seafood, local produce, homemade desserts and a full service ice cream parlor with ice cream, shakes and smoothies.

"We are looking forward to bringing our experience, energy and commitment to one of Long Island's most historic and vibrant communities," the Blakeslee family said in a statement.

The family plans to open Latitude 121 "as quickly as possible."

Rockwell Cuisine, which opened in October 2010 at the location, has called its eviction "unfair" and plans to file a lawsuit against Eagle Realty Holdings and Gloria Rocchio, president of the Ward Melville Heritage Organization, claiming contractual interference and extortion.
