Farmingville To Get First Long Island Stop & Shop Gas Station

Long Island will be getting its first-ever Stop & Shop gas station in the coming months as construction has begun at the location in Farmingville, Patch has learned.

Holtsville-based Aventura Construction Corp is currently building the gas station at the corner of North Ocean Avenue and Horseblock Road in Farmingville. The company known more around Long Island for selling lettuce than unleaded, operates a number of Stop N' Shop gas stations in New England. 

Arlene Putterman, a spokesperson for Stop & Shop, confirmed that this is the company's flagship footprint on Long Island, but could not provide other details such as square footage. Putterman said the company does not have a definite opening date either.
