Country Corner Gets Graded by Beer Website

Beeradvocate.com gives local bar a B+ grade.

The website Beeradvocate.com, which rates bars and clubs based on user reviews, gave Three Village's own Country Corner a B+ grade on June 19.

The review states: "This isn't really a place for beer snobs, but when I'm not in the mood to drive far to get to a serious beer geek place, I'll head here. They have good things on tap and everybody is friendly."

It also cites good food, especially the mac 'n cheese.

For Ben Saraydarian, owner of Country Corner, the news was "fantastic."

"That's a great review," he said on Wednesday. "I'll do whatever I can to turn that B+ into an A."

Saraydarian took over day-to-day operations of the bar last August after his father, its previous owner, passed away. Needless to say, there have been challenges associated with rejuvenating the business – including leaving behind his previous network of friends and colleagues in Massachusetts, where he was a former college administrator and property management professional.

Business at Country Corner is picking up slowly, Saraydarian said, but he sees that word is getting out. He hopes the addition of live music on Wednesday nights will attract even more people to the bar.

"We still have a long way to go to get everything done that I want to get done, but it's coming along," he said.
