Registration is now open for WESTDOC: The West Coast Documentary and Reality Conference, which returns in 2012 for its third annual conference September 9-12 at a new location, the beautifully restored Culver Hotel and Pacific Theaters in Culver City. WESTDOC 2012 gathers producers and directors of non-fiction/documentary and reality TV programming and the executives who fund and/or acquire such programs. More than 100 industry speakers are expected to participate in WESTDOC 2012 consisting of panels, case studies, social events and exclusive networking sessions. The conference’s climactic event is an all-day PitchFest where documentary and reality producers pitch new projects and concepts directly to network and development executives in front of a live audience for potential acquisition or coproduction funding. One ticket gets the attendee into all conference activities, from the Sunday sneak screening to the panels to the parties. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The problem is not the lack of supplies, but a lack of personal responsibility. But if we send in enough supplies each year for ten or fifteen students, then we might be able to avoid the underlying problem.

It is beyond reasonable to have salaries at that level and multiple administrators and assistants and directors and assistant directors and chairman etc. Teachers earn their fair share!
