POETRY WEEKEND at Gallery North

Join us for this special weekend of words and images, March 19th and 20th.

Poetry and Art, Listening to Color, 

Saturday, March 19, 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Award winning author and poet, Orel Protopopescu and Gallery North’s director, Judith Levy present a two hour workshop on poetry and art for children in grades 4-6. Observe colors at play on the walls of Gallery North and describe their personalities in poems. Then, inspired by the poems, create new artwork from a variety of media, wedding words and images. 

This workshop will be the first in a series of six.

Extraordinary Voices: Poetry Readings from

           Paumanok, Poems and Pictures of Long Island

March 20, 4:00p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Local poets: Phip Asaph, Graham Everett, Gladys Henderson, Ron Overton, Eliane Preston, Barbara Reiher-Meyers, Pramila Venkateswaran, Claire Nicholas White, John A. Williams, Ginger Williams will each read their work from Paumanok, edited and compiled by Kathaleen Donnelly.  This ArTalk is free and open to the public, though seating is limited.  Please contact the gallery for more information. 631-751-2676

Gallery North is open Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p. m. and Sundays 12 – 5 p. m.
