Origami Heaven Festival

Come celebrate the ultimate Long Island Origami experience at the Charles B. Wang Center. Origami Heaven 2011 interprets Long Island’s largest Asian American cultural center, through the intricate art of creating sculptures through folded paper. Inspired by spaces of the building, from the bamboo garden to the interdenominational chapel to the gift shop to the Chinese Zodiac fountains, origami artists from throughout the world will recreate the Wang Center aesthetic through their one of a kind sculptures. This day-long participatory festival features storigami, workshops, teaching tables, a kimono dressing performance and other live performances. Celebrate the beautiful art of origami with the whole family.

Can’t make it to the festival? Origami, the Wang Way! Exhibition  will be open all week and will feature a  daily origami lesson with an origami expert from 12PM-1PM except on the day of the festival.
