(Setauket, New York, February 15, 2011)  Gallery North presents Emerging, a selection of artwork created by new and recently discovered talent.  Featuring works by Honor Randall, Susan Canin, Margaret Cibulsky, Bill Hawkins, Ginger Hendler, Susan Ives, Francis Roberts, Lois Walker, Janice Sztabnik, Kathryn Cellerini, Kristina Stoyanova, Luis Ramirez, Linnuo Zheng and Michelle Chiang.

In keeping with Gallery North’s mission to provide our community with stimulating exhibitions, viewers are invited to explore some of Long Island’s newest and most exciting emerging work.  These works were made by artists whose ages range from high school students to retirees.  What links them all is their recent step into the public view. In addition to the works on display by each artist will be one work by each of their mentors.

Gallery North supports arts education at all levels and offers special thanks for the cooperation of these artists who are also instructors and mentors:   Stan Brodsky, (The Art League of Long Island, Huntington, NY); Mel Pekarsky (Stony Brook, M.F.A. program), Linda Prentiss, (C.W. Post, M.F.A. program); and Christian White, (The Knox School,  St. James, NY).

Emerging is on view at Gallery North through March 27, 2011.

Gallery North is open Tuesday to Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-5.
