Le Petit Salon de Musique’s 2011-2012 classical music series continues with a performance by the five-piece orchestral group Alexandria Le and Friends.
As leader of these outstanding young four musicians, American pianist Alexandria Le is a highly-regarded performer who was recently named a finalist in the 2011 Pro Musicis International Award. Le has been featured as a concerto soloist with numerous orchestras. Ray Furuta is an artist acclaimed for his deeply musical gifts who has established a reputation as one of today’s foremost young flautists. Furuta has been a featured soloist for The Long Beach Mozart Festival and with many other orchestras. After winning the top prize in two international violin competitions before her seventeenth birthday, Dina Nesterenko was selected to represent Russia in the Tchaikovsky International Violin Competition in Moscow in 1998, where she was the youngest participant. Ms. Nesterenko’s recent achievements include winning the 2010 Stony Brook Symphony Concerto Competition. Cellist Ismar Gomes has performed throughout the US and Europe, most recently at the Kennedy Center, Severance Hall, and Amsterdam City Hall. Turkish violist Eren Tuncer is one of his nation’s most brilliant young performers who has dazzled audiences throughout Turkey and Europe.
Alexandria Le and Friends are all working towards advanced degrees in music studies at Stony Brook University. They will captivate the Le Petit Salon audience with works of Brahms and Prokofiev in the continuation of a Sunday afternoon classical music series that continues to receive exceptional reviews from enthralled audiences.
