Where Was This Historical Photo Taken in Three Village?

Put your best guess in the comments below.

Taken in 1930, this photograph sent to us courtesy of The Three Village Historical Society shows Mather’s Drug Shop and Lyons Brothers Contracting Company. Next door is the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company building that was brand new at the time this picture was taken, according to the Society.

Do you recognize the building in this historical photo? Tell us where you think it was taken and what occupies the storefront now in the comments below. Check back later this week for the answer.

Among the goals of the Three Village Historical Society in its mission is to nurture the public appreciation for the area's historical heritage and develop educational resources that provide access to the Society's store of knowledge.

Two upcoming events sponsored by the Society further their goals. On May 10 at the Port Jefferson Village Center will be the Crawford Barn Exploratory Fundraiser, an information session on the Spociety's plans for the Crawford Barn.
