Crazy temperature shifts have made this season a particularly bad one for potholes and Long Island roadways, but Patch wants to know how are streets in your neighborhood?
The Town of Brookhaven said they already have crews deployed throughout the town working to repair potholes.
“Thanks to above average temperatures, asphalt plants are open to supply hot mix material for these repairs,” said Frank Petrignani, a spokesperson for the town’s highway department. “The department will continue its use of hot mix asphalt until the plants once again close. In the absence of hot mix, cold patch material will be used to continue addressing pothole repair.”
Are you seeing a lot of potholes in your area? Let us know in the comment section. Petrignani said crews are directed to locations as potholes are reported. To report a pothole in your area, call the highway department at 631-451-9200.
