Jacklyn Sullivan presented Town of Hempstead citation for efforts with Cedarhurst-based hunger organization.

Wantagh resident Jacklyn Sullivan was recently honored by the Town of Hempstead for her charitable efforts.

Sullivan was selected as the recipient of a $1,000 grant from the Sodexo Foundation for her work with Rock & Wrap It Up, a Cedarhurst-based non-profit hunger organization that she has volunteered with for many years. The 2012 graduate of MacArthur High School in Levittown was presented an official Town of Hempstead citation by Supervisor Kate Murray for her efforts with Rock & Wrap It Up and was also thanked at the presentation by the organization's CEO, Syd Mandelbaum.

Sullivan was named a semifinalist in the Intel Science Talent Search competition and a finalist by the Coca-Cola Scholars Program last year. She is currently a freshman at Binghamton University.
