Shelter Animal of the Week: Meet Windy
Windy was brought in as a pregnant stray, and now that her kittens have all been adopted, she is waiting for someone to bring her home.
Puppies and kittens are by far the most frequently adopted pets at shelters, leaving their slightly older counterparts overlooked. Save-A-Pet Animal Rescue in Port Jefferson Station has many young cats who have plenty of years ahead of them, even if they are past the kitten stage. One such kitty is Windy, a domestic shorthair up for adoption.
Windy first came to the shelter when she was found as a stray and was brought in to be spayed. Veterinarians found that she was pregnant, and so Windy remained at the shelter where she gave birth to her litter. All of her kittens have been adopted, but Windy remains with Save-A-Pet waiting for a home. This petite cat is affectionate, and would love to go to the a home where she can lounge about and explore.
Windy is up-to-date with all of her routine shots, spayed, and houstrained.
