Shelter Animal of the Week: Meet Brody and Some Lucky Black Cats

This weekend is the Lucky Black Cat Weekend at Save-a-Pet Animal Rescue, where you can adopt a black cat for free.

This weekend is the Lucky Black Cat Weekend at Save-a-Pet Animal Rescue in Port Jefferson Station, where you can adopt any of the shelter’s nine black cats for free. Black cats are often passed over because of their nondescript coloring, so be sure to come down and give these cats the attention and love they need. You can also stop by and meet Brody, our shelter pet of the week.

Brody is a young female Himalayan who was left at a pet store by someone who had not been caring for her properly.  Her fur was matted, so she had to be shaved, but her fur is now growing back beautifully. As the Himalayan is a longhaired breed, it would be important for her owner to brush her regularly.

Brody is spayed, up-to-date on her routine shots, and housetrained.
