Much of the village of Lindenhurst was still in shock, recovering from Hurricane Sandy, when local resident Pam Botway took these photos while driving through Lindenhurst on Nov. 15. In an email to Patch, she described the images as "heartbreaking." But since then, cleanup efforts have been "fabulous," according to Lindenhurst mayor Tom Brennan.
