Check out this slideshow of the work being done on Christian Avenue in Stony Brook and Setauket.

Town contractors are currently finishing up on curbing, sidewalks and driveway aprons on Christian Avenue and actual paving should start in about two weeks, according to Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro. He said the Suffolk County Water Authority has finished their end of the work, the repair of the trench that the utility had dug to put in new water lines.

"By the end of the month to the first week into October, that road should be fully completed and re-striped and ready to go," Losquadro said in a message to Patch.

Christian Avenue has been the topic of conversation over the past several months, with residents hoping for repaving and a mysterious person posting signs poking fun at the highway department for its perceived lack of attention to the roadway.
