PHOTOS: Locals Enjoying Mild Days in Three Village

If you've taken photos from the outdoors this week, share them with the Patch community.

It's about to get a little warm on Long Island – temperatures will head above normal for the rest of the week as the arctic air mass loosen its grip on our area.

Locals have started to notice: On Monday, West Meadow Beach was a popular spot, and Frank Melville Memorial Park was jumping with folks walking their dogs and enjoying nature.

"We're having a nice time being outside. We've been hibernating, it's been so cold," said Kate O'Brien of Strong's Neck, who visited Frank Melville park with sons Jack, Peter and Tommy.
