Rubble. All that remains is rubble.
Crews on Thursday razed the former Body Talk Lounge in Centereach, a demolition celebrated by local politicians as yet another step to remove local eyesores in the local communities.
The building, which used to be a strip club, had sustained significant damage from a fire earlier this year and town officials said it had become a dangerous target of graffiti.
“Structures like this are a magnet for crime and a detriment to the nearby business and residential community," Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine said in a statement. "This building has been a blight for many years and it’s about time that it’s demolished to start making room for the improvements that are slated for the property.”
A small retail building next door was also knocked down.
