Parade of Flags to Honor Country's Heroes on Friday
Local event marks national Flag Day.
Brookhaven residents are invited to pay tribute American Flag and those who make this country great on Friday.
The Heritage Trust will host it "Parade of American Flags" on Flag Day, Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Mount Sinai Heritage Center.
The event features a display of more than 100 flags and signs that recount the history of the United States. Some of the flags flown will include the national flag, state, local and Armed Forces flags to exhibit the growth of our country over time.
In addition, visitors will have the chance to take part in a scavenger hunt that focus on the symbols along the Avenue of the Americas.
The Heritage Trust is a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing natural resources and the distinctive character of the surrounding communities. Educational, cultural and social events will foster appreciation for the area’s heritage.
The Mount Sinai Heritage center is located at 33 Mount Sinai Coram Road in Mount Sinai.
