Organizations, Churches to Offer Thanksgiving Charity Meals

For those less fortunate, you've got a place to go.

1. The Knights of Columbus in Central Islip, located at 62 Carlton Ave in Central Islip, will be serving a Thanksgiving Day meal from 11 a.m.  - 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

2. Thanksgiving dinner will be served at Calvary Chapel Island of Grace on Railroad Avenue in Holbrook. The meal is at noon.

3.The Invited INN at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, located on Route 25A in Rocky Point, will host a Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday at 1 p.m.

4. For those willing to travel, St. John's Evangel Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst will be serving a Thanksgiving dinner at 1 p.m. Thursday.

5. The Welcome INN at the First Presbyterian Church in Port Jefferson will host a Thanksgiving dinner on Friday at 5:45 p.m.

6. St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Port Jefferson will host a Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday at 1 p.m.

7. While it's not specifically Thanksgiving-themed, St. James RC Church, located on Route 25A in East Setauket, holds a weekly dinner for those less fortunate on Sundays at 3 p.m.

I agree..maybe that is one of the reasons road pavement safety lines and striping esp. in the 3VRead More area are virtually non existent!! VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION that leaves the TOWN OF BROOKHAVEN liable involving accidents and fatalities. I think the new T.O.B. highway super, (D. L.) should make this a priority!

So, essentially that first residential home is being written off as the price of doing business.Read More There goes that property value. Other than as a professional residence, who would want to live by a driveway for that traffic? As for the entrance Village Automotive, that will bring even more traffic to an already busy intersection nearby. 25A is impassable/impossible in that area for large chunks of the day now.

The rezoning is for the acres of undeveloped residential land across from Ann Maries Farm stand,Read More extending down to the wooded area on 25A. A one way entrance would be placed by Village Automotive and a one way exit would come out on N. Country Rd. adjacent to the first residential house.
