Oct. 18: Charitable Knitting, SBU Scholarships, and More

Here's what's happening in Three Village today.

On the table Monday in Three Village: spies, knitting needles, scholarships, and more. And a new contest brought to you by Three Village Patch.

1. You've likely been hearing lots about Setauket's own Revolutionary War spies, the Culper Spy Ring. But in case you haven't, you can catch a lecture on the spies at the Setauket Neighborhood House at 7:00 p.m.

2. Teens in grades 7 through 12 can take part in Knit for a Cause at the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library tonight from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Learn how to knit a winter scarf for people in need.

3. An application for a 5,000-square-foot expansion by Church on the Sound will be heard today at 4:00 p.m. at Brookhaven's Planning Board meeting at Town Hall. Supporters and opponents of the plan can attend the meeting to voice their opinions.

4. Stony Brook University students have until 5:00 p.m. today to apply for two different scholarship opportunities: the A. Sanchez Construction Corporation Scholarship and the Don Jose Marti Scholarship Award.
